The four-year PhD program in Applied Mathematics
The four-year doctoral program in Applied Mathematics is designed for students interested in scientific work in applied mathematics or research and development at a high mathematical level. The content of doctoral studies is individual and depends on the topic of the dissertation. The Department of Mathematical Analysis and Applications of Mathematics offers topics focused mainly on the following areas: (a) problems of regression models with complex structures, statistical modeling and statistical analysis of compositional data in its multidimensional or functional form with a wide range of applications; (b) problems of optimal control and shape optimization, problems of approximation and interpolation of functions and data. During the implementation of doctoral studies, the department cooperates with experts from other universities and the Academy of Sciences. A foreign internship is part of the studies.
