Description

The ultrafilter is an important object in set theory with a variety of applications. The aim of this paper is to understand the concept of ultrafilter, prove its basic properties and selected applications. Among them, in particular, economist Kenneth Arrow's famous claim about the ‘impossibility’ of public choice. Other applications will be chosen according to the nature of the candidate.
