Description

Clinical trials represent the gold standard in gaining knowledge about the effectiveness of drugs or treatment procedures. Emphasis is placed on the proper planning, execution, recording and evaluation of the "experiment" consisting in the comparison of the selected indicator of health in two groups differing from each other in the treatment administered. The role of statistics in clinical trials is not limited to the evaluation of the obtained data. The statistician already helps with the design of the study, including determining the range of the sample, the type of randomization, etc. Understanding the issue of clinical studies and trying to solve some statistical problems that need to be solved in practice will be the goal of this bachelor's thesis. Bayesian methods are emphasised.
