Alternative approaches to statistical analysis of compositional data

Despite the fact that for statistical analysis of compositional data the logratio methodology (based on logcontrasts of parts of a composition) is commonly used, in parallel also other approaches, based on square root transformation, spherical expressing of compositions etc. are developed. Aim of the diploma thesis will be to describe in detail these alternative methodoogies and confront their properties with principles of compositional data analysis that are reflected when logratio coordinates are applied.
