Why study math
The enormous technological progress of the last centuries is based on mathematics.
Computers, satellites, oil rigs, cell phones, cars, planes, ultrasounds, PET, CT, magnetic resonance, ...
"Go down deep enough into anything and you will find mathematics,"
said Dean Schlichter. By the time of your graduation, the world will be full of technologies that don't exists yet. However, they will share something important with today's technology: They will be based on mathematics.
